Editing or creating MXF or DNxHD files

Is there a way of creating or editing MXF or DNxHD video files in Avidemux or is it a patent issue that prevents work with certain codecs?

Material eXchange Format (MXF) is a container format for professional digital video and audio media defined by a set of SMPTE standards.

FFmpeg, an open source project added support for muxing and demuxing of MXF and MXF D-10 in FFmpeg 0.5, released in March 2009.[5][6]

Avid DNxHD, which stands for "Digital Nonlinear Extensible High Definition", is a lossy high-definition video post-production codec engineered for multi-generation compositing with reduced storage and bandwidth requirements.

Since September 2007, the open source FFmpeg project is providing 8-bit VC-3/DNxHD encoding and decoding features thanks to BBC Research who sponsored the project and Baptiste Coudurier who implemented it. In July 2011, FFmpeg added 10-bit encoding support.[8] DNxHD support is included in stable version 0.5 of FFmpeg, released on March 10, 2009.[9][10]
