When trying to save edited video (recording of a live stream, removed pauses) I get "Too Short" error and the video is not saved properly. Exact error:

---------------------------
Too short
---------------------------
The video has been saved but seems to be incomplete.
---------------------------

Video information: see attachment. Avidemux: 2.6.16 64-bit version from official site.

You are using this method: Fast Edit with Copy Mode (3'14) ?

If not what is the selected:
- Video Output (Mpeg ...)
- Audio Output (AAC ...)
- Output Format (MKV ...)

Do please check the audio track in Avidemux Menu: Audio: Select Track.

Could be a mono issue, ...

I think yes. I open the video (it says the decoder is "Lavcodec RGB". Video and audio are set to copy mode, output format - to "MP4 muxer". I delete (not cut) the pieces I don't need and save the result.

Jan Gruuthuse

Try mp4v2 instead of mp4.

If this does not work, try method from video:
cut lead out:
- go to where you want to start your video
- mark end of lead in block: keyboard arrow up, keyboard arrow down, mark with [ B]
- block should be marked from start of video to where you want to start video, press keyboard simultaneous [Ctrl][x], lead in is cut.

remove 1st block in video (similar for next blocks you want to remove)
- go to start of next block you wan to cut:  keyboard arrow up, keyboard arrow down, mark with [A ]
- go to end of this block you wan to cut:  keyboard arrow up, keyboard arrow down, mark with [ B]
- only block you wan to cut should be marked, press keyboard simultaneous [Ctrl][x], marked block is cut.

- go to where you want to end your video
- keyboard arrow up, keyboard arrow down, mark with [ B]
- save the video

repeat for as many blocks you want to remove.

important: select cutting points only with keyboard arrow up, keyboard arrow down. Don't use left or right keyboard arrows.

Saving as MP4 (not v2) still fails with "too short" error.

Jan Gruuthuse

Could be normal, mp4  not saving and mp4 v2 is saving.
