"Image stabilizer" filter works bad (worse than in other tools) - Improvements?

Sometimes I need to stabilize/de-shake a smartphone video.

Therefore I applied the "Image stabilizer" filter to it.
Unlike other filters in Avidemux which works great the "Image stabilizer" filter seems to be poor.

I selected mainly:

Interpolation=Bilinear
Motion estimation=accurate
Padding=No
Zoom=slider to left
Threshold=in default mid

but tried other parameters as well

The result is always disappointing in comparison to other tools (like Movavi or Videoproc).

Is this a known issue?

I would appreciate to use only one video editor (=Avidemux) for all my tasks rather than use multiple.

The "Image stabilizer" is a simple filter. It works fine on removing small shaking. But can't remove wobbling.
