Importing 6 Channel Sound

I searched everywhere and still can't find the answer.

I have a video file that only has one audio track, and it says "Surround Sound". VLC plays it with no problems.

But importing the video file into avidemux only seems to import the rear audio channels. Is there any way to fix this?

mean

what version of avidemux?
Should work with 2.6.4

Requiem

I had 2.6.3...

Just upgraded to 2.6.4 and it still doesn't import properly.

U want to keep the 6ch with copy , or are downmixing it to less channels and then only back channel used?
that prob i had in older versions, not the latest

recyclez

Now i've seen (heard :) ) the prob.
Using 8859.
I got a season of an HBO show with AC3 6CH.
Video is done well, but the downmix to 2ch AAC is some episode are only back channel and some are only right channel.

If i look at position when it happens, it is all the time the same.
Episode intro goes well mixeddown.
When it switch to HBO video logo.bang audio freaked out and uses back channel only or rightchannel only.
So, some how the encoding audio codec gets triggered loosing info.
I've u wanne dig into this, i don't know what info u want to reproduce the prob.
i cant make a small mkv of a episode intro and cut it after HBO video logo

For me its not a high prio, i use another program to mixdown the channels to stereo and mux it with the video avidemux generated

mean

the problem could be that  it switches between stereo and 6 channel
you could try this  : export ac3 channel to foobar.ac3 and reload it as external audio track
You must have the start having 6 channels

This is whats happend.

So my guess after HBO its doesnt know anymore how to switch back to reading 6ch and still reads in 2ch.
but its me :) just guessing
ow and p.s.
thx for triggering me to look into loading external audio :) didnt see that 1, thought it was just audio select :)
learning learning all the time :)
