I have a problem where while m2ts files are indexed automatically, files like mkv -despite being particularly large- don't leave behind an index file. I tried the bat file from here: http://avidemux.org/smif/index.php/topic,16719.msg74696.html#msg74696 but I can't get it to work at all let alone index an mkv file. would it be impossible to create a mkv index file?

as always any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

mkv does not create index files (idx2)

Writing the index for a MKV to the disk would be really very nice to have, so +1 on my part for that. As Jan has stated, currently this is not implemented.

And while developer(s) are looking into this. Perhaps a re-indexing button/function for loaded video?
