Trouble running 2.8.1 even once

Hi, all

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012), running macOS 10.15.7. It's set so that I can install any software from any developer.

I cannot get 2.8.1 to run on my MacBook Pro, even though everything I've been able to dig up indicates I should be.

It let me drag the application into my Applications folder. When I try to launch it, the first time the system tells me that I downloaded it from the internet, but when I say to open it, it starts to but crashes without opening the window. Any further attempt, I get the "opening" animation, but it never actually opens.

Any ideas on what's going wrong? Is there anything I can do to get it to run?

Thank you.

The 2.8.1 release and current official 2.8.2 nightlies require at least Monterey (macOS 12.x), they cannot run on older versions due to bundled Qt and other libraries from Homebrew having been built for Monterey.

The only option is to compile your own Avidemux build locally from source, please see https://avidemux.org/smif/index.php/topic,19872.0.html

Yikes. . . .

Well, thanks for the response! I may tackle it.
