question

I took a 1080p video using OBS and AMD H265. The video colors came out OK...i then tried downscaling it to 720p and Mpeg4 AVC (x264) in Avidemux and the colors came out grayish.

What video output/settings should i be using to avoid the colors becoming grayish? I want to avoid using HEVC (x265) if possible because windows refuses to display thumbnails for videos using x265...
