Fixed, build in progress
Fixed: 9854198    [imageLoader] Take the right channel for alpha
confirmed: both white and black based alpha do now work as it should.

So...?
can I download a new one and test it?

----EDIT----

I downloaded and installed ver. r160604 64b.
Works fine and logo is beautifully inserted on video.
I made some test with it, and found something odd... when I fill with a different number in the 'alpha' box, image still the same. No change.
Though I'm very grateful as it is and your enthusiasm on solving the main issue I originally posted.
Thanks to both of you very much.

On my request with .png add logo uses alpha channel if present.
Alpha: 0 to 255 is for .jpg usage
My understanding how this works now.

see below:

Done some testing
- alpha setting works only if alpha channel is not set on png
logo left alpha background
logo middle no alpha, black background (Alpha = 190)
logo right no alpha, white background (Alpha = 190)
see attached screen cut out:

- add logo jpg  seems to be disabled, you can select jpg as logo: nothing happens. Perhaps don't allow selecting anything else but .png

Jan Gruuthuse

Update:

- when loading png with alpha channel: picture with invisible background
-- Alpha [255] is grayed out (not selectable)

Alpha setting below works on the whole picture
- when loading png without alpha channel, Alpha [255] is selectable.
- jpg is enabled, you can also set Alpha [255]

So, it depends on which type of png I'm using to be able to have a result when I fill a number on the alpha box?

mean

If the png has alpha channel, we'll use that
IF not (or jpeg or bmp), we use the one from the spinBox

I just like to add that this is a issue I have had problems with as Long as I have used avidemux even it is a amazing program this is very frustrating to get this message "movie is short". When this happens I need to do it manual and change video output to the codec I wanna use and let it encode it manual. Then it works. But takes long time to complete.

But I like to ask a question about this problem is this a memory issue. ?

If I use small clips upto 1gb it works but if I have bigger files like 5gb or bigger many times I get this error.

I use avidemux to edit tv recordings that is recorded in *.ts.

most likely not

So do I, what is the source of your recordings (DVB-T/T2 or DVB-S/S2)

This should not happen with ts. However not all providers use the same settings.
If you have such a sample video (10 seconds / +- 100 Mb) giving you this problem:
- please start a new thread
- upload and provide weblink to this video!
- document your workflow, so the situation can be recreated.

Developers need to reproduce this problem, to see if this can be fixed!
ps:- Use a free dropbox account, www.wetransfer.com, mega or similar webservice (free public access, without registration to download your uploaded video) thank you.

The recording is DVB-S/S2.

I am going todo some editing today so I will create a new thread and I will include a link to dropbox (public folder) to the file that I get this error on.

Included some stat about the files I am editing.
