Errors on Opening Files

Just installed Avidemux 2.6.12 - 64 bits on a new Dell desktop running Windows 7 Pro. Avidemux starts normally, but when I try to open a file I get two errors which are shown in the attachments. I have included the application log in the attachments. After the two error messages pop up and are closed manually, the application seems to work normally.

Is there a way to cure this problem in my installation?

Same behavior from the most recent version.

32 bit version behaves the same ?

No, the latest nightly 32 bit version does not display any of the errors shown by the 64 bit version.

FYI, dragging and dropping a file onto the 64 bit version causes the same errors to appear.
