Today after installing Mojave 10.14.4 beta 5 my copy of Avidemux 2.7.1 has stopped working, the program opens ok, and when I open a file it goes through the process and opens an empty screen and doesn't give me any errors. I have used both mkv and mp4 files without luck, I have even started the program from the Terminal.

Avidemux 2.7.2 has been released. Please update the app and retry. If the problem persists, please redirect the output in the Terminal to a file (admlog.txt in your home directory), compress and attach it to your reply.

/Applications/Avidemux_2.7.2.app/Contents/MacOS/Avidemux2.7 > ~/admlog.txt 2>&1

Hi, I did copy and paste the line " /Applications/Avidemux_2.7.2.app/Contents/MacOS/Avidemux2.7 > ~/admlog.txt 2>&1" to a terminal window,  that opens version 2.7.2 but it gives the same results, I really don't know much about terminal commands, it is something I'm not doing? Thank you.

Please reproduce the issue, then compress (zip, 7z, gzip) the admlog.txt file and attach it to your reply (or upload elsewhere and post the link).

The command you executed in Terminal creates a text file "admlog.txt" in your home directory.

Hi, I'm very sorry but I don't understand what the admlog.txt is, to reproduce the issue all I have to do is drag or try to open any file with any extension from Avidemux, it doesn't matter the version the screen is the same. Well I have some sort of good news, out of desperation (because this is the easiest app that I use to edit videos), I downloaded the version 2.7.0 and it works perfectly. The other two no go.

QuoteI don't understand what the admlog.txt is

It is a text file (Avidemux log file) = the console output of Avidemux redirected into a file.

You should have reproduced the issue (the application hang?), then closed the app and attached the log. The file you provided covers just the Avidemux startup sequence with no usable information from the malfunction.

Without your input the developer(s) can't have a clue what is going on, so the incompatibility will persist unfixed. 2.7.2 runs perfectly on my Mojave MBP, albeit not on the Beta of the next macOS release.

Thanks for your help anyway, I guess I'll keep using version 2.7.0 which works ok.

Same problem here. Opens fine, loading a mp4 results in a larger, distorted image of the UI instead of the movie.
ADMLOG attached. Many thanks!

Thank you very much, is that all? No further messages until Avidemux is closed/killed?

Does enabling HW accelerated decoding change anything in the result? Does disabling OpenGL support change anything in the result?

AVIHD

Yes, switching OpenGL off in the Preferences makes AviDemux work again. Seems like the new beta of Mojave changed something, 2.7.1 is not working either with this version of the OS

Does selecting Qt as video output while keeping OpenGL enabled help as well?

eumagga0x2a

OpenGL stuff was greatly modified between 2.7.1 and 2.7.2. The issue can be just a bug in the beta of 10.14.4.

AVIHD

Yes, that works as well, QT for Display, OGL Support active. So at least some kind of workaround for the time being :-D

Thank you, could you please still provide a complete Avidemux log with OpenGL video output enabled?
